@Celery , I’ve installed this Guide and really seems to be all I need, and better than what I was doing.
Many thanks for the tip…
Ah, and @Jormdeworm , this release you from an additional work

It’s still not a bad idea to implement something similar to the forum. Making the forums a bit more informative can never hurt. If I write out entire articles for every single event I most definitely can create a calendar, although I think I’d rather try something in Excel since the forum doesn’t really provide good options to do this.
There is one on the official Pokémon GO website, but that one is severely lacking in content. Leekduck also provides a time table and there is the app @celery mentioned.
If you’re referring to pokemongolive, “severely lacking in content” is actually being generous to them. That page might have been adequate when first launched; but by this point (several years later) its incompleteness seems to be its most prominent attribute of late.
Yes
Are there any lures (or other ways) to increase spawns or otherwise attract wild Dark type mons? When I see one I keep catching it right away out of habit, before remembering that I was supposed to take a picture of it first. Oy. So I need more (but I keep getting about one Dark type spawn every few hours using an ordinary lure, and by that time my reflex to catch it is stronger than my memory to snapshot).
I just delete those picture quests atm as there haven’t been frequent enough spawns to bother with them.
Same here. One of the few Researches I genuinely don’t care about despite having an encounter reward.
I’m lucky that my app makes automatically photos for this researches, so running around is enough to get them.
Gotta have special stores of patience to develop mobile games for a living. Hard to know what makes the game fun, when everything about it is work.
Don’t understand the problem… I stumble every now and then over this Kecleon. Even more? I hope Niantic hasn’t read the article.
SInce the start of this event I’ve seen no sign of a Kecleon in any of the 4 places I play most frequently. I hardly noticed, though, since there are never many Kecleon anywhere (just an occasional one or two every few months).
A few days ago, the game mysteriously “forgot” all of my usual grunt-beating teams. The first encounter with each different type of grunt gives a random (losing) team of recommended counters, instead of the team I used for the last encounter, which makes me set up my team of counters again.
My memory might have been quick to recall each, when it was forty years younger and more agile… Wheeeee.
It’s easy for you to say that. You can go anywhere. Since the event began I’ve seen only 1 Kecleon.
Since the event started I have not seen a single Kecleon because I quite simply don’t care as they still don’t spawn for me. And besides, I don’t like the current event either and am too busy irl to play. Not a big loss to me to be honest.
The last sentence of @Jormdeworm is the best: Not a big loss to to be honest.
Kecleon was interesting when it comes out to fill another place in the Pokédex. But since then… waiting for a Hundo? waiting for a shiny? Really not very ineteresting.
Having timed research task to complete 150 field research tasks makes me loath to delete any field research.
Taking 3 pics of the same encounter with a single pokemon shouldn’t really count as taking pics of 3 pokemon, so I can accept having that semi-cheat eliminated. But I finally deleted the task to take pics of 3 dark Pokémon, after I verified that even 3 different Zigzagoons won’t count. The task SHOULD have been honest and said to take pics of 3 different species of dark pokemon. False labeling stinks, but so does misleadingly vague labeling.
