I’ve been catching 1-2 Zora a week. It’s always been my Buddy Pokémon
A Stunky surprised me by spawning with similar confetti effects; but it almost looked like sparkles for a shiny. Didn’t get a screenshot, though.
Must have been an XXL or XXS, then.
At the risk of sounding negative, what’s the point of the new prominence being given to height and weight? Didn’t the attack, defense, and stamina stats already articulate the effect of size in the use of any Pokémon?
Maybe the game will start applying a “shipping and handling” fee to trades, based on Pokémon size? Or maybe storage capacity will do more than just count the number of Pokémon?
Nothing at all, it’s yet another useless ”feature” Niantic has been wasting their time on rather than give us actually something useful or fixing bugs preventing us from being able to play the game normally - looking at you, Kecleon. The last new big feature we got was Mega Raids I think. They have been around since 2020 if I’m not mistaken. Since then we’ve only seen the Pokédex rework, Kecleon stops, Golden Stops that won’t make a return anymore by the looks of it and Scatterbug, all minor features.
Oh yeah, you can get the Badge for XXS/XXL to Platinum if you want… but that’s about it really.
Bag clean up just got more time consuming with this XXS and XXL sizing. Trading them between the family accts will help get those Platinum Medals sooner. Well I hope it works like the Fish and Rat Medals.
Another Kecleon smackdown …
I have caught now 58 Kecleon.
The “best”, an IV 86 with lvl 18; and the worst IV 15 with lvl 4.
This values are a shame, any other Pokémon would have given at least some with IV >90.
Maybe the more interesting, the first two catches from day 1 were genderless, meanwhile the rest is male and female.
My catchrate is 100%, I found a way to go around the bug. When he jumps from the fotodisc, try to spin until it really runs around. This throws out the Kecleon definitely and you find him in the ground.
With them being so scarce and it being a really time consuming process I haven’t bothered to look for one for the last 4 days . Not even on the 8 stops I can see from home.
Between bag clean up, gifting for Scatter Bugs and some Trading I’ve got no time for endless Stop checking in the small window between home duties and bed time.
Oh, I know it’s really a boring work without any utility. But I would like to find at least one of both gender with an acceptable IV.
Best to you for that effort. I decided years ago that my Dex goal would be limited with regard to chasing spanning sets, to have every combination of variations, like male/female, shiny or not, and all costumes or hats. (One Kecleon is enough. And if I complete the Vivillon collection, great, but not a priority, nor even an overt goal.)
Please, somebody, I need reconnaissance:
Global GO Fest weekend? My vacation request has to be submitted 4 to 6 months in advance, to have any hope of getting the weekend that I want.
Has anybody got a clue about that?
I think we won’t be getting detailed information until (well) after Hoenn Tour
My guess would be halfway through July but that is by no means confirmed and just speculation from my part.
Has Niantic finally learned how to create more interesting events? I haven’t been disappointed by an event this year at all. Sure I have been disappointed because of enough other things, but the events this month have all been decent and were all better than I imagined them.
Hosted a Regice Raid through Poke Genie today to find only two out of five showed up at the raid. We ended up failing it. I’m sorry for the two dudes who did show up and wasted their remotes and was surprised to see all five gave me a good rating and it even says “successfully hosted Regice Raid” where it was clearly not successfully hosted because 60% didn’t even show up, but hey, it wouldn’t have been my fault either way. I hope those two dudes who wasted their remotes get a Shundo on their next raid, I feel bad for them even though I couldn’t do anything about it.
Weird thing is I myself specified the raid wasn’t successfully hosted and we were only with three raiders total and normally it gives me the option to report them or say they didn’t join but this time it skipped ahead of it, but I did fill in that it was not successful. Weird. Shame, because those three that didn’t join should have their accounts banned on Poke Genie. But hey at least I didn’t get disadvantaged because of it.
This is the most interesting Gym Badge I have seen so far. How was this even a Gym?
It appears it has been deleted now since it won’t load the Gym. It probably also wasn’t named like that when I got the badge because I sure would’ve remembered that. Interesting
Edit: I found it on the map in America (obviously) so I must’ve been invited to a Raid for that Gym I assume. Still, no idea what happened with the Gym title but I love it. Although they should’ve changed it to $50 instead of $100 because the daily cap is 50.
Edit 2: almost all the other American badges don’t load either. Maybe it’s even a still existing Gym then.
More crappy Hoenn Tour details announced didn’t get me any more interested. Honestly I had completely even forgotten about Hoenn Tour. Well, the features aren’t necessarily bad, but mean nothing because they took away so many things that would keep people going for the entire duration of the global Hoenn Tour event.
Honestly, the global paid events got them so much money and were always very well received (apart from people who think spending an hour at the same spot and then leaving and going back home nets them 1000 shinies) and the fact they just simply decided to downgrade it so much is what I cannot stand. Sure, they still have a lot of features returning, but without boosted shiny rates it all means nothing. Without boosted shiny rates, I give it an hour max and I’ll be back home. I even would’ve paid for that as I’ve always thought it to be worth it. But hey, their loss. I wouldn’t care much if Niantic would get financially unstable, but they could easily just prevent that by not downgrading the global Hoenn Tour but they think putting things behind paywalls is a more justified way of earning money apparently. And no I wouldn’t say paying for boosted shiny odds is paywalled because it’s a bonus. Local Hoenn Tour is paywalled squared.
This company makes less sense than a potato.
Come on, I just wanted to catch the Swinub… but then this Crackling Voltage Chicken just decided to stand in the way.
Seen two Zorua today. It does seem they are always “HUGE!” or “TINY!” and always Weather Boosted for some reason. It was Cloudy according to the game yet my Zorua had the Sunny Weather Boost.
Classic Niantic promising the new update would let us get Field Research even when the bag is full then proceeding to mess it up and not letting it work. But on a serious note that was a really necessary QoL feature we’ve been waiting for for three years, so I’m glad they have finally tried to let it work.
On another note it appears another QoL feature is now live showing the Incense and Lure symbols above the CP of a Pokemon so we don’t have to guess which one came from Incense and which one didn’t, which has always been a large issue during Community Days and Spotlight Hours.
Apart from the global Hoenn Tour of which I’m still convinced is going to be a MASSIVE downgrade compared to the Las Vegas one Niantic really has been doing pretty well this year so far. Really hope they keep this up.
