Melmetal is probably my 2nd favorite opener for that purpose. I was able to decide on those 2 by looking them up in the Hub DB. So to find the move speeds and recharge times when new mons or moves are added or buffs / nerfs happen, do I need to consult you? Why not just look it up, myself? But where?? Feels like the CP and IV for evolves situation before apps like Poke Genie or Calcy IV came out. I looked this stuff up before. Now I need to find a new place to look it up. And I don’t need another patronizing reassurance that I don’t really need to know.
And y’all don’t need my whiny protests any more. I’ll start looking for a new information source after my shift tonight. Bless you and the rest of your Sunday (or Monday, if you happen to be in the part of the world that has already passed Sunday).
Thanks for explaining your idea, now I got what you were trying to explain !!
In my case, I count the no. of fast moves to reach the charge attacks. For example :
With Mud Shot, we just need 4 taps to charge up Muddy Water and 5 taps to Hydro Cannon, whereas EQ needs 8 taps, I guess…
Guessing with what you and @NotanotherKangaskhan were discussing, I think you were playing Master League, whose meta Pokemon takes good enough damage from EQ, with few exceptions. Since my strategy involves to lead with bulky Pokemon, so I usually don’t burn my shields early on, unless I need to survive the highly disadvantageous match-ups.
Sorry to trouble you with my question.
Another thing which I remembered just now is that your idea should be of good use early on, but during endgame and late midgame scenarios, I think it will be tough to calculate the time duration of opponent’s moves, as opponent’s usually switch out after charging a bit or more to keep their both move reachable with lesser taps, in order to confuse us.
Just for making some fun conversation :
For me, my favorite opener is either of Azumarill, Pidgeot or Cresselia, with Cresselia being the shield saver for me in most scenarios.
My first thought is what an entitled lazy sook the original reddit poster is.
If you want 50 Free coins a day it’s up to yourself to earn them. You may get lucky and be able to get them from one or two gyms or you have to hit multiples more than once a day to make it happen. It’s not up to others to make it happen for you.
Having said all that ^ I would like to see a short time lock out from the first Pokémon in only of lets say 10mins before a Gym can be re-taken.
Could also reward 10 coins just for putting a Pokémon in a Gym and shorten the stay in time as well. This would make it easier to reach the minimum coin amount of 50.
As allways, if you live in a big city the problem is to find a gym to put a pokemon, and once in maybe they throw you in less than 5 minutes. If you’re living in the landside (after 10 days) your hoping somebody visits you’re gym to push them out.
Seems your idea of an initicial reward would be the best solution.
It’s a shame @priom is not registered here on the forum - as I wanted to do a quick shoutout to them for the excellent ‘Dashing Design’ series of articles in the Hub’s main content area.
Anyhoo, in case they are reading this… Very enjoyable read, keep up the good work, buddy, I look forward greatly to the next one… cheers
Can someone who’s more invested in the whole Pokémon thing from its early days explain if this this new Party nonsense has any relevance?
I’ve minimised the research window so I don’t have to look at it and the soon it gets pushed to the bottom the better. Rewards are reported to be the usual rubbish you can get from playing other aspects of the game. This Party thing just appears to be a huge time waster.
Not sure the party thing has any relevance to the Main Series Games… and it’s full of bugs at the moment, but…
…you do get a Raid attack bonus - which might come in handy for me and the missus and the cat as we’re usually short-manned. And some Eevee-lution themed T-shirts from the research.
Tried Party Play and was unimpressed. The main issue for me is when Party Play is active, too much of the screen is taken up with icons across the top. The novelty factor of having other player’s characters appear on the screen lasted about the same amount of time as finding the option to make them disappear on the settings screen. I can see myself using Party Play very, very, very casually.
Glad to have your input here, @SpYkers29 . And the novelty of seeing other trainers on my display was a plus, for about ten minutes. There’s some overhead to set it up, and play is constrained a little while doing a shared task. But the reward for completing it is hardly worth even that little bit of bother. (Calling the reward ‘token’ would be too generous.)
I vaguely recall last year we saw fallen ‘leaves’ around the landscape and piling up around Pokéstops and gyms (with a few decorative pumpkins). I don’t remember all of the stops turning rust color, though. Is this just superficial visual effect to make it feel like autumn, or is there some meaning / significance to the color or function associated with it?
