It’s a shame @priom is not registered here on the forum - as I wanted to do a quick shoutout to them for the excellent ‘Dashing Design’ series of articles in the Hub’s main content area.
Anyhoo, in case they are reading this… Very enjoyable read, keep up the good work, buddy, I look forward greatly to the next one… cheers
Can someone who’s more invested in the whole Pokémon thing from its early days explain if this this new Party nonsense has any relevance?
I’ve minimised the research window so I don’t have to look at it and the soon it gets pushed to the bottom the better. Rewards are reported to be the usual rubbish you can get from playing other aspects of the game. This Party thing just appears to be a huge time waster.
Not sure the party thing has any relevance to the Main Series Games… and it’s full of bugs at the moment, but…
…you do get a Raid attack bonus - which might come in handy for me and the missus and the cat as we’re usually short-manned. And some Eevee-lution themed T-shirts from the research.
Tried Party Play and was unimpressed. The main issue for me is when Party Play is active, too much of the screen is taken up with icons across the top. The novelty factor of having other player’s characters appear on the screen lasted about the same amount of time as finding the option to make them disappear on the settings screen. I can see myself using Party Play very, very, very casually.
Glad to have your input here, @SpYkers29 . And the novelty of seeing other trainers on my display was a plus, for about ten minutes. There’s some overhead to set it up, and play is constrained a little while doing a shared task. But the reward for completing it is hardly worth even that little bit of bother. (Calling the reward ‘token’ would be too generous.)
I vaguely recall last year we saw fallen ‘leaves’ around the landscape and piling up around Pokéstops and gyms (with a few decorative pumpkins). I don’t remember all of the stops turning rust color, though. Is this just superficial visual effect to make it feel like autumn, or is there some meaning / significance to the color or function associated with it?
Maybe if its range were large enough to be reasonably confident of finding a few. Even if we can spot shinies before selecting them, they’re still pretty rare within a few blocks.
Interesting idea, @Branebs . I like the seasonal background, but want the ordinary background to be what’s, well, ordinary. Making it ALWAYS be a season will wind up wearing out the novelty. How about a month of each season having the seasonal artwork and the other 2 months having ordinary? Or even half and half?
With Darkrai being one of the easier-to-catch Legendaries, you’d practically have to be trying not to catch it, to miss 5 or 6 times (can’t recall getting fewer than 5 tries after beating a raid and usually get 8 or more). Being so impatient that I couldn’t wait for the boss to be in the center of the screen or just tapping the ball instead of throwing it might do it. But to do that more than 5 times would be trying not to catch…
