Well next one got rejected immediately for seasonal even though I clearly described that’s nonsense and even a simple mind can think of that. Time to renominate again… at least no “fake nomination” appeared this time, so that’s a relief. The fact it went in voting yesterday and already got rejected though, that’s not a relief.
It worked! Thanks @Branebs @bagguille it’s the new Gym now!
Surprisingly… because it did not yet have the most votes up. But I’m glad it’s the right one.
Glad I could help!
Best part was it was triggered on one of these nominated by someone else. I’m not sure how they get them through because I used 3000 words and explained twice that “seasonal or temporary display” is incorrect and still they pick that. Maybe I should let this person do the work because my ‘essay’ doesn’t seem to do anything. At least I’m glad they slowly get through.
1 1/2 days since voting and 3 days since renoninating and already rejected again. I’m assuming it’s getting mass rejected because there’s no way it’d take this short. But I’m not giving up. If someone else can get these trailmarkers through then so can I.
Appealed the “fake nomination” rejected trailmarker because that’s obviously wrong and I want to have that gone as soon as possible but I’m willing to wait a few months as well. Better late than never. Though I’m still going to renominate it on Monday. Not my problem if Niantic will review another duplicate. At least it saves me my “fake nomination” strike.
Also, Niantic is reviewing one of my appeals that has long become a stop again. Can’t help but laugh at it. If only they simply added a button to withdraw an appeal it would’ve saved them hours. Not my problem though. It wasn’t even me who got the stop added to the game either.
Somebody deleted this horrible Gym, probably because it doesn’t even exist in real life anymore. Wish they did it AFTER I got a gold badge though. It got replaced by a new stop however and another non-selected stop became the new Gym. It’s safe to say the location of the Gym cannot be chosen anymore at least, which sucks, but I’m satisfied with this Gym because its location is much better.
Also surprised the other three Gyms around it survived longer as they are still Gyms but actually should’ve been gone for at least a year now. I’m not deleting them though, because they won’t get replaced by a stop and that’s just enough to not get another Gym back. It will probably happen eventually, though. At least I did get gold badges for those three, despite absolutely despising their locations.
Two days now. For the whole process. Again rejected. I understand it’s a hard sell because it’s a trailmarker with no text or dedicated sign but this looks like a mass rejection. I’ll give it a few days to weeks before I’m going to renominate it because there’s just no use in this. Still though, hard sell means you need to explain why it should be a Wayspot properly and if the supporting text is good enough it should get the Wayspot through anway, not that I write the maximum amount of words allowed which is 3000 and includes every single rejection reason and why they are wrong and still have it being rejected 10 times for reasons I covered. At least only once it had “fake nomination” as a rejection reason, could’ve been more because they seem to love to give that but I’m glad they didn’t, so there’s that at least.
Of course the only time I nominate one of those in another place it does go through.
At least that’s one less to do… but not one that can create a Gym.
I have decided I will give it one final go with my new submission round coming up probably on Monday (initially planned to do it on Saturday, but then there’s Community Day which I don’t want to miss) as I always have a day off on that day so that should be time enough and if it gets rejected instantly again I’ll leave it for at least two months because this isn’t working. My other chance is to move one stop a micrometer to the right of it so it will create the final stop that is currently just an Ingress Portal but this is seemingly impossible to do. Not placed perfectly in the middle is an instant rejection it seems, even if it’s being moved by a distance so short it’s hard to even notice the difference these Wayfarer reviewers won’t allow it. It’s crazy, really. I wish I moved it just slightly more to the right back when I nominated it because now it’s just undoable.
Selecting a new gym failed again. It’s just sad they removed that feature. Only pointless Gyms are coming now.
That took long.
It’s been over half a year since I last had no submissions waiting, they’re all done now (apart from a couple of appeals). A sight I’m about to ruin because tomorrow I’m going to do my next Wayspot submission round, but it’s quite relaxing to see.
Also, surprisingly anywhere I nominate those trailmarkers they get accepted except the one that keeps getting mass rejected which is also the one that can hopefully get my a Gym that is actually nearby. I guess it’s time for a new picture so they hopefully won’t recognize the submission and mass reject it anymore?
I finally uploaded a heap of noms (12) stored under upload later function on Saturday (some from 3 months ago).
3 were approved in 2 days and the a 4th in 3 days. Only 1 creates a Gym. These were all rural (out in country areas).
Only 1 of the remaining has already gone into voting as of 2 days ago and was accepted today. The others were still in the queue last night. These are all local close to home which usually takes 1-2 weeks. None will create Gyms but all make for good additions for a quick 30min turn around ride on the bike from home to spin for Gifts and top the bag up.
I’ve identified some new Recreation Park signs that have been erected by council recently that all fall in their own Cell to nominate on the opposite side of home in an area that already has a good group of stops and Gyms that will also be handy Pokestop additions.
My final appealed Wayspot just got accepted!
About those appeals, I read that Niantic has about a 50/50 ratio for accepted/rejected appeals, but that’s obviously distorted as probably half of the rejected Appeals were duplicates (I mean, who is going to wait this long for that when you can also just renominate in the meanwhile). I think a more realistic ratio would at least be 60/40 accepted/rejected, which is shocking as the 60% accepted were totally valuable Wayspots rejected in the first time. If anything Niantic really should rework the system, but they won’t because they fail to realize that half of the rejected Appeals are duplicates.
One of my nominations from December 28th already got accepted and it’s again one of those trailmarkers they love to reject somewhere else. Interesting…
I recently counted I’ve been able to get 21 pedestrian bridges through, of which at least half of them in the first try, and only one that kept getting rejected. Last six pedestrian bridges all got through first try so I thought I’d try the one that keeps getting rejected again after two months of rest. Surprise surprise, rejected again. Can’t wait for the one trailmarker they hate to be rejected again, too. It’s like all the reviewers came together and decided to mass-reject them everytime they see these nominations where they are totally valuable. Also I nominated both of them on December 28th so it’s quite suspicious that the bridge is already rejected. How many reviews does it even take? At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if it got rejected by one single review…
I’ve tried numerous things, uploading different pictures, adjusting the name slightly, but nothing seems to work, they just keep rejecting them for whatever reason. Guess it’s easier to wait a couple of months to get the Appeal through than to renominate them because this definitely isn’t working. They are just as valuable as the other pedestrian bridges and trailmarkers, I’ve countered every single rejection reason in their descriptions, made sure everything is clear and still they give random rejection reasons to them. There is nothing wrong with them, which I can tell by the fact that I know how to nominate these after 21 accepted ones, but they simply keep getting rejected and I don’t know why but I expect they are just mass rejected at this point.
Looks like I’m taking these words back, because renominating doesn’t get me anywhere either.
Update: it looks like they got rejected less often than I thought, because the pedestrian bridge only got rejected 5 times and the trailmarker 8x. Still though, only the first time I uploaded the trailmarker it wasn’t as detailed as it was still before August so that leaves about 7x when there was NO reason to reject it and still it got rejected. For the pedestrian bridge, 4x as well. I countered everything they could possibly reject it for, which makes it so weird, especially since I get both trailmarkers and pedestrian bridges through easily. The only thing I could think of which could be why they keep getting rejected, although I haven’t checked it for sure, is the fact Streetview might not reach them, but even then they can easily be located with the standard map that gets shown when reviewing and the supporting picture, and for the pedestrian bridge, the pin is right on a path leading over a ditch on that map, so a simple mind should understand it’s indeed there. Plus, the supporting picture shows another already existing stop as well. So even if this were the case it wouldn’t make sense. But on the other hand they never get rejected for the location either. I have no idea why they get rejected at all, actually.
Did figure out though, apart from these two and one thing I only nominated once so far and happened to get rejected, EVERYTHING I nominated since August got accepted, so I’m doing pretty well in nominating now. And that’s including some pretty tough nominations that were only borderline acceptable and a couple of them that got rejected a few times before. So there’s that. Probably because I’m writing very detailed descriptions as to why they are eligible now that explains everything and includes why the most picked rejection reasons aren’t the case for this certain nomination. It’s also just a text I copy paste for every alike nomination so it doesn’t cost me a lot of time to get them written down, either.
Looks like I’ve already been ranting about the rejection reasons for this bridge too. An entire essay and they’ll still find a way to reject it, whether it makes sense or not.
