Today’s Daily Nonsense. Decided to go even later hoping the connection would be better but it was worse. The only good spawn did not even load.
By burning the incense on alt and main, one at a time, I could see quickly which spawns were on both (non-incense spawns) and which were on only the acct using the incense at the time. I caught every incense spawn during my 15 minute walk, which totaled 11. Not even close to the kind of spawning rate seen by some of our high-level hub forum members, but better than nothing, I suppose.
Well, the best up to now for me were 24 catches.
For me the mechanic is like this: the first pokémon needs some time before spawning, from there on they come up regularly. But when you stay a moment, then the spawns stop and you have to start as in the beginning.
So, to get more catches you don’t have to stop movement never. Walking, catch, and going on walking until the animation finishes, and click on the next catch.
Thanks for the tips.
Is there some way to get the screen more steady while still walking, to make screen taps more precise?
If I keep walking, it often takes 2 or 3 extra taps to select the mon and bring up an encounter for catching; but about half the time the mon will despawn before I’ve taken my third step… (And you say pausing my steps will cause the spawning to slow down.)
Yes, the program needs continuos steps to get continuos spawns. Don’t know how to stable the screen.
But, for example, the time you loose because of three taps on the screen is lesser than the one you loose because of not moving.
What helps as well is going to a place with few normal spawns, so it’s more easy to identify the adventure spawns.
Yup. That was my initial problem, made easier by having one incensed trainer’s screen next to a non-incensed trainer’s screen. Anything that shows up on both screens isn’t an incense spawn.
The only plausible purpose for this walking incense is to get everybody used to walking again, so we’ll stop complaining about Niantic removing the stationary-incense enhancement during the year of pandemic lockdowns.
Sorry, Niantic – the stationary incense enhancement is a very desirable feature, and removing it just plain sucks, no matter how you try to condition our attitudes with these event gimmicks.
From what I’ve herd 30 is the maximum you can get.
The faster you walk and in straight line is fairly important the more spawns you can trigger.
The 30 was achieved by a passenger in a car while the driver drove at just under 40km.
It’s very apparent speed of movement is a huge factor with how many trigger.
What a stupid nonsense mechanic they made it.
I’ve only done 2 so far. I might be stuck on stage 2 for a long time.
And really, getting a bird with three heads as a compensation for capture 100 things is not very nice…
Today I used my daily incense in a different location at a different time. I was next to the lake and in the forest in the middle of the day. I usually use my daily incense in the town late in the evening. These are my spawns this time. I actually caught 25. Last one was Castform.
Combined the Daily Nonsense with my Wayspot submission round. Regret doing that. Lots of dog walkers stopping everywhere and some road workers blocked the road so I had to take a different route that was a little less straightforward. Tomorrow I’ll go for the evening again.
Almost missed the Altaria because that Swablu didn’t want to stay in the ball whereas the Altaria stayed in the first. Used Great Balls on both of them.
