I’ll be honest here, I cannot stand this monkey for whatever reason, but when I saw those stars it definitely made me smile!
What’s interesting about this shiny Aipom is that I caught him in almost the exact spot I caught shiny Gulpin recently. It must have been a meter or sth like that apart…
I also caught shiny Kabuto on that day, but I can’t remember the spot anymore (it was on the same route, just not there).
I wonder if I’ve found a lucky birth spot of shinies…

I had the biggest smile on my face today as I was playing through Community Day!
I was very happy to even have encountered one shiny, I never imagined I’d get to so many! I had 12 shinies in total before this, no repeats, and now there’s been an invasion!
I usually don’t evolve the shinies I catch, unless I prefer a different stage, but here I managed the full family, which is super exciting and a first for me.
They’re not particularly strong (the Primarina manages 2 stars), but it made me smile a lot. I got 3 in a row, which is absurd?? (another time it was 2 in a row)
How many do you usually see in a community day? I’m asking because this has massively increased my expectations for community days in general, in particular the ponyta one, as Rapidash is one of my favourite pokemon.

CD Shiny rates are massively increased over normal Wild catch rates as well as the catch/dust off rate being decreased for the Pokemon in general.
CD shiny catch rate is mostly a weight of numbers game in the more encounters = the more Shiny you will get. Having said all that my trainer has shown a history of some well below Shiny odds during CD’s hence my apathy towards Shiny.

The shiny rates are roughly 1/25 for Community Days (as opposed to the standard rate of 1/512). Personally I aim to get about 20, which usually takes me about 1.5 hours of playing. Back when Community Days were still 6 hours long I played all 6 hours a few times and was able to net close to or even over 100 shinies. So yeah, if you want to grab some shiny Pokémon, Community Days are perfect.

wow, those are indeed some elevated odds (not complaining!). I’ll be paying more attention to Community Days from now on, it’s definitely a great way to build and improve my collection, I have (hopefully) better chances of getting a shiny and complete all stages of evolution.
I didn’t really care for Popplio before, my main goal was to get a Primarina, but I kind of do now, honestly. The CD was a fun activity on a saturday afternoon and if it’s a pokemon that I really like I’ll probably enjoy it even more! It’s something I’ll be marking on the calendar from now on.
Today was a good day! I decided to try raids for the first time and checked (remotely) a 1 tier and I knew they were the easiest, but wow was it easy! The 1st was a Mareanie and I was all nervous choosing my team, only for it to hardly make a dent on my first Mr. Mime. I just had no idea!
So, I tried another one out… and got a shiny Vulpix that is also a little marvel!!!
Look at this beauty! I was really nervous catching it, I’d much prefer my own pokeballs to those white ones, the number of times I let shadow pokemon escape when fighting grunts was weighing on my mind… but all good!
I went for a quick walk at the end of the day and got a nice surprise! I almost didn’t pick it because not a fan of spiders and already had both evolutions… like a(n almost) fool!

I had totally forgotten about Spotlight Hour, and only played the game because I was walking back home anyway, and to my surprise this dyed sheep was there too! Been a LONG time since I got a new Shiny the day it released for sure (well, ignoring Popplio and other stuff that released in such events)

It looks so good! I tried during the entire spotlight hour but no luck. Still managed a couple of good ones, but that’s about it!

I can’t believe I forgot to post this shiny I got yesterday from an egg. It was such a lucky hatch to be both a new entry to the pokedex and a shiny!
(I’m not sure if it’s the 1st time it happens, because I also have shiny Vullaby and I can’t really recall if it was the first hatch or not - if it wasn’t that one, it was one of the first few, anyway…)
(updated: I’m just noticing this now, but the other pokemon in the pokedex turned into their shiny versions? that’s neat!)
