Not falling for that. Wasted too many Raid Days and money for no shinies, I’m not attempting it again, should have known better for the Hisuian Starters, Wyrdeer etc too. Worst type of event ever.
I like this event for the shiny boost, but do indeed not need a single one of them besides Togedemaru, which is the one not boosted. I do agree with @celery however Niantic is doing nothing to keep us entertained and every single event is yet another rehassle of stuff we don’t need, when there are actually a hundred Pokémon I have not seen in a good while, and a full region yet to release. This event to me is fun, but it’s one of the very few events I actually enjoyed this year. Next event is also the biggest disappointment ever, and that for Adventure Week, which was always a really interesting event due to the Fossils finally spawning for once. Now it seems we will never see them anymore, since Niantic decided Adventure Week needs your everyday rubbish as spawns.
Surely they will run out of content at some point due to the limited amount of Pokémon in the main games but Niantic is also really not trying to innovate and and keep the game interesting. I have been saying this since 2021, I believe I made basically a weekly post here in the vent thread back then and even remember 4 separate events in a row having at least 4-5 of the same spawns shared. Three years later, I could still make the exact same post if I wanted to. Sadly.

These should be the spawns NOT the pink eggs. Diglett and Roggenrola are the spawns - disgraceful content and conduct from Niantic.

So many Shiny that @celery has caught many multiples of that I either haven’t caught or don’t have the complete family of. No complaints here about anyone voicing they are sick of catching/seeing the same crapola.
It was long time ago in the game it got me wound up about not catching them. My Shiny/Catch ratio was so poor it changed my view to one of I just don’t give a 
about Shinys.

Out of interest and for a comparison to have a good laugh at. Roughly how may catches/checks for that many Shiny?
This is all I have to show from somewhere between 2-300 catches. First blue seed too.

Not many.
Gotcha! caught first 3 while driving to a pleasant nearby (30 mikes) town to shop and eat ice cream.
Spent about 90mins there. Then went to a nature reserve to photograph butterflies and wildflowers. Had my phone in my pocket, but Gotcha disconnected and Adventure Sync doesn’t work for me.
Other 3 at home while eating and watching TV. Klink was Research, other 2 wild spawns in garden.
Total about 250 pokes.
Mrs. celery did same as me and 0 shinies. Cat got 3.
Yesterday did 14 Lucario Raids got 0 shinines.
It was my first Panesar shiny and I have encountered 3500+ of that species.
That’s a good haul from that many catches.
Does Mrs Celery getting salty getting 0 from a similar amount of catches?
Going pretty well for me too surprisingly. Not with stuff I need though, but I’ll take it. I think I’ve gotten at least one shiny a day for over a week now, and that while I am not really playing more than usual. Of course the event plays a part in it but I’m seemingly getting more full odds randomness than event shinies for some reason.

No - it’s more like the other way around.
If I have a duplicate shiny, that she hasn’t got, I trade it with her - sometimes at great stardust expense. And, of course, we have a reciprocal agreement - BUT she NEVER gets any duplicates that I need.
The upshot is that her shinydex is far more complete than mine. I’d say she has around 40 more shiny species than me (about half of which are legendaries).

Yeah, the Fossil themed event spawns anything but the fossils. Can’t wait for it to be over, and that isn’t a statement I ever thought I would make regarding Adventure Week. This event is discouraging me to play.
I’ve actually liked this fossil event.
