Yes! I look forward to that! I hope new people will join.
Welkome back!
How is the current ultra box? Is it worth buying?
Only if you plan on doing a bunch of raids
Otherwise save the coins, Iâm going for the Adventure box.
There is Groudon Dinner Hour tonight. Go in a group and that will eat up 4-6 of those passes.
Caught a spoofer red-handed. He was thinking he was smart waiting for 15 minutes to take the gym. But I was waiting for him. This evening he will be reported to Niantic
Wow. Youâre certain he wasnât just out of view nearby? (like in an apartment or a parked car?)
I didnât even think spoofers were a thing anymore until one of our Discord mods caught a member doing itâŠ
I was on the beach. No one even close enough to kick me out. He also might have a second account. But he did not put that one in that gym. But I have the name so I will pay close attention to that account. :
There is a complete Reddit with those cheaters. But I will get the local cheaters. The first cheater I caught doesnât even dare to kick me out a gym anymore.
Iâve never encountered spoofers in the town I live. But Iâve encountered them a few times in town I work, but very few and far between. Now that I have gold badge in all gyms where I work, it doesnât really bother me. Now Iâm working on rest of gold badges where I live, but luckily everyone seemed to play fair until the Instinct Mod caught someone. But it wasnât anyone I recognized.
Thanks for the tip about happy hour today â I hadnât heard about that. Thatâll be worth an effort to get out in time for it.
Thanks, @MrHeineken88, it sounds pretty incontrovertable.
Just thought I should ask, since I had another trainer join me right before the Go for a solo-able raid yesterday and saw nobody around⊠until I noticed it was somebody seated in a car parked in a nearby lot. And I often stay in my car for a raid if I got a spot close enough to reach the gym and the weatherâs not great (too hot or cold or windy or rainyâŠ)
I wonât report unless I am 100% sure.
Since itâs impossible to prove something doesnât exist, I would think the only way to be 100% certain a person is spoofing would be to see them physically at one location while their trainer is in a location thatâs physically somewhere else.
If I canât see somebody, I figure itâs possible thereâs a place I donât know about that they could be, like a parked car or one of the offices or rooms close to the gym in question. (Most of the gyms where I raid are near stores or offices, and most of those have at least a few parking places.)
But Iâm the relative newbie to all this mobile game stuff and the ways GPS interacts with it, so my reasoning process about this is guaranteed to be a bit naive.
In one corner of our block we have a Gym, and all players here know that there is a player living just 10m above this Gym. Weâve seen him once, but normally he just not spend the energy to come down to the street. This would be just a real situation of what you are describing.
On the beach, no one within 100 meter, so it was an easy one. Made 360° pictures and screenshots. Worked last time. So hope Niantic does kick this guyâs from the game.
If there are houses it is near impossible to prove. But in my case it was easy. And I suspected him for longer.
Really an easy and best case to prove it.
Of course proving the non-existence of something is different from proving that something isnât in a particular place, especially a place where there are no places to be concealed, which the beach described by @MrHeineken88 seems to be. Most gyms where I raid have at least a few offices, apartments, or parking places where a suspected spoofer could be physically present though not visible to other players.
