maybe I should come to Delft onceā¦ 
The thing about walking challengesā¦ I love them except when itās too hot outside. Itās a great motivation for me to go for longer walks/walk more consistently, to add up to the kms or to hatch more eggs (thinking of the egg event tomorrow), but when itās summer + all the extra heat where Iām atā¦ itās just not reasonable for me.
I wonāt be making it for the marathon this time, unfortunately, if it happens itās an incredible surprise but 99% chance of not happening, just trying to see how close I get and thatās it.
What Iād really like is for hatching events to happen in the morning (start before 11 oāclock, at the very least, itās getting pretty hot by then anyway) and continue into the afternoon.
I honestly think it would be appealing for a lot of people. Plenty of players in hot areas and with increasing heatwaves in many places, I think the game could adapt more in this way. I hope they look into this in the very near future!

I agree with you completely. Therefore, I have a little trick that I use when I canāt walk. I put my phone in a sock and swing it left-right for several minutes. It gives you distance in the game as if you walked it.

With my luck my phone would end up being projected at some point 
I should have tried to walk around the house with my phone more, I do that in rainy weather but, oh well, I just didnāt have the energy 
.
I did some tricks last time too for an extra push and felt a bit bad after, so wanted to try just walking this time. Iām driving a lot less too, which doesnĀ“t help the case.
The better scenario would be a bracelet that counted daily steps and converted that to kms in game. (I mean something reasonably priced) That would be great to have, too. Between daily chores one tends to walk a lot, too, just not with my phone in hand.

This I agree with. Iām not a big fan of heat but my phone apparently even less so. My phone has a mechanism built in to prevent overheating but it does so by lowering the screen brightness. In no time I canāt even see whatever I am doing anymore, at least not when there are no shadows nearby. This was a huge issue for the recent GO Fest event as well sadly, on both days. It really drops my motivation every time.

But Delft would be fun

Does anyone else already have the explorer gadget?
I got mine yesterday and decided to use it a bit today while I went to an appointment.
Apparently it stopped catching at some point because I ran out of pokeballs. I am glad to know it only uses pokeballs and nothing else, I like that. (Now that I was given a masterball I paused this thing just in case lol will resume later).
However, I donāt quite get only 2 pokestops. In the area I remained the longest I think thereās just 2 pokestops or near it, but they must have been used only once and I was there for longer than 5 min, but on the journey there and back again there are definitely more pokestops.
My theories:

since I went by car, maybe it only counts if youāre below a certain speed? Iām unsure of this, just a guess.

Maybe I ran out of bag space in the meantime, tooā¦ I guess that would stop it from spinning more pokestops -.- (I think this is the most probable one!)

I think itās good it only uses pokeballs, as it avoids wasting superior ones, out of precaution.
Iām the tiniest bit worried of encountering a shiny and having it run away with just a pokeball. Maybe we could customize this gadget with berry + pokeball or maybe specify for shinies use orange one + ultra ball. Maybe this is too much!
I appreciate this concept because I donāt have to look at my phone while walking, which I do a lot with the game. Sometimes I just want to walk and hatch with the phone in my pocket, so having the option to also catch some pokemon is nice, but I think the bonus is in the pokestops, more than anything.
What are your impressions so far, if you have this?

Itās just a regular autocatcher except it only catches for a while Instead of all the time. It works functionally the same. Only red PokĆ©balls indeed, so it wonāt waste a Master Ball

I had never used an autocatcher so I was unsure. I like it! I think improvements/additions like these are very welcome.
