Lets talk - (anything)

I was going to comment here today how I love the halloween theme in the game, all the decorations make for a really pretty sight, from the encounter screen, to the map. I love autumn colours, so to see an interpretation of it in the game is really great and a nice change from the usual thing.

But now… it’s gone! The new music is playing (at night only), but all the decorations and autumn colours have vanished. My game had to update during spotlight hour today (mandatory update), so I guess something wasn’t working well and they had to shut it down for some reason.

Anyway, I hope it gets back soon, because it was a delight to see!

Huh, you’re right, I’m no longer seeing the Halloween decorations anymore either. Oh well, must be a regular day at the Niantic headquarters.

yes, I was hoping it would be fixed by now, but nothing… back to the same old, same old. It’s a pity, too, it was so good to see. :crossed_fingers: for an update that will bring it back, though…

Happy to finish the special…

I actually appreciate when the challenges last for a longer time, it’s not so stressful to complete and it’s something I know I’ll probably get around to anyway by playing normally (except for the raids, that’s an extra effort to look for suitable ones for me). And the reward is known and very, very nice!

Maybe it’s because i’m bored. So I try to do it fast.Everything was done yesterday, only the Dynamax Particles because of their daily limit had to wait until today.

oh, that’s perfectly valid. I’m just glad I don’t have to rush for it, that’s all. I wish I could’ve played more yesterday, to be honest, especially during spotlight hour, I had to skip that, so…

However, I don’t think the halloween decorations and whatnot are not the only things not working properly… Comparing with yesterday (1st day) I’m not finding as many event spawns… I get the occasional litwick, and that dog, but it’s not common anymore. And it’s clear something is different when I look at the pokemon radar. yesterday it was full with event pokemon, now not so much.

So, me not wanting to rush completing the challenge may backfire lol

A few days ago I started seeing a PUSH NOTIFICATION nagging me about having no eggs in incubators. I don’t see an option to turn off THAT push notification, and it’s passing the point of annoyance.

The glut of Zorua around me was funny for an hour or so. “Oh?” Enough…

Of course, this isn’t Niantic support; I j ust wanted to show what it is that I’ve whined about today…

No, you can switch between them anytime.

I have configured notifications, and this is not one listed for me to switch on/off.

hrrr that is indeed annoying, no chance in disabling game notifications at all (like all of them)? Months ago I kept getting a notification to clean my device and this was happening every day, it was very annoying, fortunately other people had the same problem and it was fixed.

personally I really like zorua and its whole concept. I don’t remember the first time I caught it, it must have been earlier this year or in 2022, and I didn’t realise it copied my buddy, as I must have been using a random pokemon just to get candies.

Once the event started, though, I saw my (great :grinning:) buddy wartortle on the map when I logged in to the game, but realized quickly he had no berries to be there at all… so, zorua! (I knew here about the buddy mechanic). Now I like experimenting with the buddy I have so to have a chance of seeing extra cool pokemon on the map (besides wartortle, umbreon, and big pumpkins, a lot of them can be fun to see just like that - zoroark, for example, I find particularly funny).

I wish I had a special buddy set up for the fist encounter with zorua, that would have made for a bigger surprise.

No, no – others have been configurable for years, it’s just this one doesn’t seem to have a switch on the Notifications section of the Settings screen. And since it will nag me when the game isn’t on, my nightstand has a phone-alarm that will wake me up in the middle of the night to nag me about putting eggs into incubators.

If you add a notification, add a corresponding setting control that can mute it.

well, that does sound nightmarish! :grimacing:

While being reachable for nighttime emergencies is part of my job, having no eggs incubating isn’t urgent, much less an emergency, and it has nothing to do with my job. So I’d rather disable that nag.

@vorgriff3 do you use an iPhone? Because if so you could set up a custom Focus that would block notifications from specific apps during certain times.

Thanks for the suggestion. No iPhones here (Mine is a no-Apple household…)

Ah ok, that’s fair.

Anybody has seen this Saree Pikachu? Or do I look allways in the wrong direction?
