Hello Everyone

Something came to my mind before the arrival of new GBL season.

How many Legendary Pokemon you have caught via Go Battle League in Season of Rising Heroes ?

Lets see, whether I am the only unlucky player or not…

@bagguille , @celery

back in early 2022, obtaining Legendary Pokemon via GBL was doable work, and it was encouraging for me to put efforts into GBL, as I knew that if win matches then I will stand chance to get current raid boss. But since then, Niantic had nerfed the Legendary encounter rate so much that I had only got a Cobalion till now.

Back in 2021 Halloween, I caught around 15-20 Giratina-A, followed by 12-15 Cresselia, and that phase helped me to make these Pokemon for Ultra League.
During that phase, I used to burn up my Premium Battle Pass, in order to maximize my chances for Legendary Pokemon, and was playing 25 battles daily. It was because of that phase, I managed to reach “Elite Rank” for first time. But nowadays, I don’t feel the motive to play in GBL, despite Niantic’s move changes and updates…

Daaang - gone from one of the easiest T5 bosses against which to throw an Excellent (Regi-gag-us) to three of the harder ones (Lake Trio). I guess my alt’s 999 Excellent Throws (level 50 task) will have to wait a bit longer before it resumes its climb…

Yep. Everywhere they’re encountered in life, imposters seem to leave chaos and bitterness in their wake.

I don’t know whether this is considered a new bug or a new feature, internally to Niantic. But I think it’s pretty cool that the raid boss doesn’t simply always face every raiding Pokémon – that we can be standing under it and attacking its most vulnerable spot directly. Here are a couple of recent examples I encountered:

Rumours are rife that Remote Raid shiny rates have been slashed from the usual 1 in 20 to odds of 1 in 64, or even 1 in 128.

This comes from a Japanese site that collates shiny data and at the moment is specific to the Lake Trio regional legendaries that are currently in 5* Raids.

Gulp. This could be the final nail in the coffin. :expressionless:

Niantic could make remote raids more and more costly (and less and less rewarding) until most players give up on them out of disgust, before the remote stuff is just eliminated. There is still more room to lower remote attackers’ damage compared to local attackers.

The prospect of remote raids going away must be causing a lot of anxious insomnia at Poke Genie (and other remote-raid-hosting companies), whose revenue surged when remote raids became ubiquitous. The prospect bothers me (as is clear from my rants here). But the prospect of having more free time on my hands offsets that a little. (emphasis on “little”)

That is a lesson learned: never have any legendary as your buddy when using incense: that is a zorua or a ditto.

Or at the reverse, if you need to catch a Ditto, use a Legendary as buddy. Because if you see this same Legendary in the wild you can be shure it’s a Ditto.

BTW,

what if Ditto/Zorua is our buddy ?

If I remember well, then you will see them as is, as Ditto or Zorua. But the candies received for walking with a Legendary are more sweet

that is true.

Sadly, I cannot consume those candies

:joy: :stuck_out_tongue:

Good news everybody!

Niantic has been forced to admit their ‘mistake’ of ‘accidentally’ nerfing shiny rates for remote raiding the Lake Trio.

As recompense we are getting one remote raid pass per wasted raid + 1 extra paid back into our accounts.

I did one raid (thanks @vorgriff3 :grinning::+1:) so I’ll be getting 2 passes back! Huzzah!

Will I get the passes even if I had not raided ?

No kidding? A remote pass for each wasted raid? That’s gonna be a lot of free passes for some of us. There must be a catch (or at least a limit).

@DeltaEmerald No, I don’t think so - but there is also supposed to be an extra event organised at some point - but no firm details yet

@vorgriff3 No-one knows how it’ll work in practice - but they’ve promised 1 for 1 (+1 extra) with no upper limit stated. I don’t do twatter but here’s a screen shot of the thread on the Silph forum…

Much about this will depend on what “the affected time” means. Many such bug compensations in the past have affected the early hours of a global event, with the fix being applied before California people even begin the event. (So the compensations tend not to impact us, either.)
