Lets talk - (anything)

Congrats, a long fight, but at least with a good end.

Fair enough. :joy:

Sorry the Reshi we just trioed was not weather-boosted, @celery . My location has had WINDY in-game weather all day, and the raid was just 4 or 5 blocks away. Apparently it registered as RAINY there, rather than windy

Fun trio, anyway.

Thanks for the invite @vorgriff3

None of me, the missus, or the cat has a shiny Reshi from this rotation - but the one I just got from your raid was a decent 93%er at least :+1:

Kecleon is finally available in Pokemon GO!

Yow, thanks for the news!

I wonder where it’s available and how rare it will be. The door seems to be open to me reaching level 49 via the Hoenn Dex medal, rather than the Backpacker medal. (Which could shave 2 months or more from the time-to-complete for me.)

I’ve read myself in on the matter and from what it seems they appear from Pokestops. If you see a silhouette when you try to spin a stop, it’s Kecleon, and if you then spin the stop it while jump out and you can encounter it. Kecleon stops will go live after Chespin Community Day and cannot be Rocket Stops (though Kecleon stops are also referred to as Rocket stops) so if you see a Grunt it wouldn’t have a Kecleon silhouette. You currently can see the silhouettes from far away (far away means you can see the stop in this case) but apparently that’s not intended so use it while you can as Niantic is working on making it so that Kecleon silhouettes only appear on stops in your circle range. I’ve also heard they are RARE and they will still be available on January 8th but no info whether they’ll keep appearing after January 8th or will get removed from the game again so try to get it while you can. Though it will probably have its Shiny release with Hoenn Tour so if you don’t get one know you’ll have another chance soon (I suspect).

I myself tried finding them right after the Community Day and couldn’t find them and gave up quickly as I have already stopped caring about all new things because I no longer am a fomo player but tomorrow if I happen to come across a stop I’ll check if I can find one again.

I never came across one yesterday and I spun roughly 60 Pokestops on way home from work topping the bag up.

One of my game friends who’s local caught a Galarian Moltres and a Galarian Zapdos, and says her husband got a Galarian Moltres, as well. Again, the RNG is very imbalanced. C’est la vie, I suppose.

Only spun a couple of dozen different stops on my way home tonight, but likewise found no Kecleon. You just know there’s somebody out there who already has five, though

Addendum: On the game map, three stops look like the Team Rocket (with the top cube wobbling between light blue and dark blue), but two have the DISC in the middle of the pole blinking dark and light blue (the third has the pole and disc staying light blue, as usual). If it weren’t past bedtime and windy and rainy, I might take a closer look. But I’ll watch for it tomorrow.

The one I found this morning was just a normal stop without any hint. Only when I was in the stop the Kekleon doesn’t let you spin and you have to touch him in the head so he falls out and spawns on the outside.

Claimed my new home Gym right away!

Checked all 94 stops I can see from home and only one of them had Kecleon. Issue is I cannot currently get it. Though I’ve stopped being a fomo player for a few years already so I also cannot care.

Pray tell – did you have to be in the stop’s range to tell it had the Kecleon?

And what prevented you from getting it?

I saw another whole stop blinking (versus the normal team rocket stop, that has only the wobbly cube on top blinking), and verified that it does NOT mean a Kecleon was there. So I’m back to not even having a guess about how to find them. (Niantic’s announcement page says the image they show has one, and I see nothing remotely out of the ordinary in the image
)

It looks like this. I was not in range but that is not intended and any moment from now Niantic could make it so you do have to be in range. Reason why I couldn’t go get it is because I was busy.

None of the 94 stops around me currently have a Kecleon. Couldn’t hit one of them because it’s right behind a Gym, but I don’t think it does have a Kecleon. So they are rare.

They are rare, yes. Some rules are clear:

  • from outside you cannot know if Kekleon is inside
  • you don’t have to be in range for checking, just click and the image shows if or if not
  • the time Kekleon is inside is limited, after some time it changes PokĂ©stop

Other rules I’ve only read, but not checked:

  • being occupied by Team Rocket is not compatible with Kekleon
  • having active a Team Rocket Radar is not compatible with finding Kekleon

That’s what it currently is, but according to Niantic that is a mistake and will be fixed soon. Why? Nobody knows
