Two and a half ours played from home because I am currently ill.
I just got the second shiny and I’ll stop here. Got both shiny and I have evolved them
Here were a lot of shinies around, I caught about 35 of them, and three Hundos (I had two from before). So tomorrow I can do, without hasting, the exchanges with one of my accounts, and so create shiny evolutions without payings. The Hundos will evolve with candies, the danger to loose their IV is too high.
@Brobraam I hope you feel better soon!
I could only participate for a little bit in this community day and, even though I kept checking for pokemon and made use of the photo bomb throughout the event, I only managed to get 2 shiny karrablast. At least I’ll have the full family at some point. I also got an almost perfect Shelmet, so that’s something!
I’m still looking forward to what’s coming in the next few days, in that timed special research, so maybe I’ll get a shiny shelmet, too.
I couldn’t play for the entire event, only for 2 hours. I didn’t buy special research, took only 2 snapshots, used incense, star pieces, mega evolved Charizard Y, did 1 Moltres raid, won 1 showcase. I only got 3 shinies, 3 Fuecoco with special background and I evolved 10 Skeledirge with Blast Burn (best IV 98%).
Working for $ was was more important than this CD for me. I already had the 3x 100% and I have very little care for shiny. I finished work at 4pm and by the time I take a shower to wash the ton of dust and dirt off me I was left with 40min of CD time. Pulled our local map up and found a big CP 100% to get between work and home as the other family accounts needed one more.
My account got 2x Shiny on the GoPlus while the others got 5-6 on the DuoCatchmon.
Evolved one of the 100% to get Blast Burn.
I hate the Saturday CD’s as I have to sacrifice earning $ to play.
Congrats to @Branebs for the haul. I was preoccupied with obligatory stuff and totslly forgot about the CD.
I decided to wait until the Special Research was over to leave a comment, just in case I caught anything particularly special, but they were all very meh.
So, regarding the community day itself, I only played for a while, since I had another storm in my area. I was still very lucky and found all the shinies that I needed to complete the family early on, so that wasn’t a concern anymore. I still wanted to find a very good fuecoco so I had a worthy Skeledirge, but that was a lot more difficult and I had to pop into the game randomly and see what was up.
In the end, I evolved 1 Fuecoco all the way to Skeledirge and found a particular large one that made me believe, almost until closing time, that I could win a showcase. In the end, only second place for me!
In total: 5 shinies
Registered Crocalor and Skeledirge (1 being very good) into the pokedex
The bad part? No stickers again…
This inconsistency and lack of effort is disappointing, particularly when is something so simple that should “be a given”. I’m not particularly fond of this pokemon, although seeing fuecoco’s cute face many times made it more appealing to me!, but it makes me hesitant for Totodile’s community day.
I LOVE that pokemon and it was my starter in sapphire, so I’m very much looking forward to that community day and I would appreciate all the bonus I can get. And that includes stickers…
I was looking forward to Totodile CD but unfortunately for me it was on a Saturday again and working for extra money needed for a weeks holiday starting on the Monday was more important.
I did however have my 15min shower in work time rather than after 4pm to give me a few extra minutes. I’m technically allowed 10min clean up in work time but I’m old school and normally work up to finish time.
I needed 1x 100% yo complete the family line but wanted Candy as well.
Managed to hunt down 4x 100% in the 55min and upon looking at what the GoPlus got me for Shiny that came up with a big fat 0.
I was looking forward to this community day, since Totodile is one of my absolute favourite pokemon and in the end it turned out much better than I thought it would! Since there was a big storm in my area, I wasn’t expecting to be able to go for long walks, but still was hopeful to catch enough shinies to secure the family and at least 1 very good Totodile to evolve.
In the end, I managed to play for a bit longer than I had intended and managed to catch 8 shinies in total, which was very nice and more than expected! Similarly to Sprigatito, I only started seeing them around 40 min into the event and was getting worried I wouldn’t find one before the storm in my area really hit.
So, in total: 8 shinies (one of them being xxl, which I always appreciate)
2 new Feraligatr with higher stats
1st place on a showcase!
Even though it was rainy in my area, it was still very difficult to find Totodile in the wild with actual stats worth evolving. I didn’t get any through special research (on the day), but managed 3 very good ones while checking in the game during the event.
I still missed having special stickers for this event…
Even busier with work than last month, giving me a second CD in a row missed. But I’d been catching totodiles for years already, so I already had good shinies of toto and its evolutions. So no worries.
I’ll probably miss April’s CD, too. I’ll try to decide by then whether I’m missing due to lack of time or in protest over the ODIOUS refusal to let players buy the CD item box with pokecoins that were bought with cash.
Already had the 3x 100% Icecream so my only interest was getting the 3 Shiny as I had none.
It was a Sunday too so I could play but unfortunately a family matter torpedoed that plan. Turned the phone on with 10min left of the CD and 1 of the 6 spawns at home was a Shiny. Got 1 so it’s a start I guess.
No excitement with this one.
Already had the 3x 100% so didn’t bother to chase 100% on the map. Just drove around and did some Gyms and DMax while letting the GoPlus and Auto Catches get whatever.
Got 13 Shiny on my main and only for on one of the others from just as many catches. Somewhat refreshing for my main not to be the worst acct after a CD.
No random 100%.
Trashed all but the 3 Shiny I needed.
Already having a multitude of 100% L40 Machamps and 3x L50 Shadow Machamps you would think this CD would hold no interest.
I subscribe to you can’t have enough big 100% Machamps in the battle arsenal.
Adding to my already high Candy count was the aim of the day. I could have hunted down 100%ers in hope of a Shundo Hulk but that would have reduced the amount of catches driving over the game speed cap for the auto catchers to work.
Got 3 1/2hrs of play time and remembered to evolve a Fighting Mega to increase Candy gains.
Stats:
376 caught
15 Shiny
No surprise 100%
I had a great time this past community day, as Machamp is one of my favourite pokemon and I always want more in my collection, not only with great stats but tiny and xxl versions, too (one or two each in the size parameter). I still haven’t found a perfect one, but I’ve got some that are pretty close to it.
My main goal is always to find enough shinies to secure the family, stats being secondary. But, in this case, I was really hoping for a particularly good one so I could have an awesome shiny Machamp. I found a machop in the wild that was better than my usual 0/1 star shiny, but my best one came from that Special Research. I don’t much care for the background, but it’s definitely one of my best shinies in the game, so far.
Lately I hardly ever get any tasks rewarding pokemon when I spin pokestops, during community day, mostly pokeballs/berries and the like, which is a shame. Do you have the same experience? To get better shinies I have to rely on the special research that happens after the day…
I also enjoyed all the machop candy I got during the day, that definitely comes in handy! I just wish I had more of those pinap berries to actually give it a proper boost. I usually have them, but hardly any that day.
In total:
12 shinies
1st place on a showcase with Machamp
First CD for a while that I’ve gotten a little excitement for due to not having any 100% in the collection.
Made it a point to only go for the large CP 100% in order to collect more Candy as going for every possible 100% reduces Candy collection driving from point to point. Stupid me forgot to evolve a Mega to maximise that.
All up happy with the 5x 100% with the very first one being a Shundo.
271 catches
11 Shiny
5 100%
1 Shundo
After returning from hiatus, I got to participate in my first CD in a while, and it was also on the exact day I first started the POGO journey.
Anyways:
1040 Jangmo-o Candies
142 Candy XL
2 shinies
