You didn’t catch it so you should be ok. If you did and your trainer returned to it rightful position and you started catching again straight away you could have a problem. Or if you’ve been catching and it jumped and you caught the Eevee you might also have a problem.
You should have tried to catch one other easier Pokemon, and then if it ran away you would know.
I just worked out I need to make 21k XP a day in order to hit Level 38 on July 6th 2018, the 2 year anniversary of the game.
21k XP is pretty low for one day
2 Ledgendary Raids and some random catches a day and your there.
Oh i make 200K xp a day
Maybe you have nothing else to do?

I had someone tell me if I wasn’t making 30K XP a day I wasn’t trying. I was on L29 at the time and they were on L38.
I’ve been averaging 25k since July 2016.
200k a day is ridiculous, how many pokemon are you catching? Even with a lucky egg it’s gotta be hundreds S:
I’ve done 200K a da y and it requires not having a life. If you live or work in an area with frequent spawns and Pokestops 30-50K is fairly doable with the new raid system. The thing people don’t get is that the game is meant to be enjoyed, and there is no benefit to grinding 200K Xperia a day. Play at your own pace and have fun doing it!
