Dynamax Discussion

The consumption of resources required to Power Up and Max Level Up 3 decent Pokémon are well beyond a vast majority of players.
The playing habits of Raiding being able skate through Raids without putting in time and effort building great usable Pokémon sees them thinking Giant DMax battles will be the same. Let’s not even go there with the heavy slant of :poop: IV Raid drops and wasted Trades.
Nianishit have set this up to fail massively.
I don’t do social media platforms to bother seeing what backlash Nianshit cop over this feature now. From what I’ve seen so far from local Discord and written above it appears the target audience for Giant DMax is it’s for those that take the Battle game seriously not the vast majority of players who are casual collectors.

I didn’t even try this, and nobody in my area bothered either. Apparently they might have been secretly nerfed to make them easier, but thats not enough to get people to do this. For a 6* the rewards have to be crazy good, and they really aren’t anything awesome.

This season is a disaster.

I completely agree, which is a bummer, because it seemed to have pretty solid potential, and Halloween is usually pretty great in PoGO.

Also, why can’t we do raids past 9 pm? This seems like another needless, annoying “feature”…

My theory on that, @Liono1001 : Every new feature or modification in the game seems to serve the overarching goal (of Niantic CEO) for social gatherings, healthy walking, and becoming more familiar with places and landmarks. If the game gathered players after dark it might set them up for unhealthy encounters (urban with crime and rural with critters). I want to do remote after dark; but they want to DISCOURAGE everything remote.

Correct, this is the goal. However, I have noticed the effects tend to be the exact opposite they planned. There is no reason to explore new areas because all you will find is the same stuff. Every time I travel to an area that has different regionals I can hardly find them due to the Kanto spawns and especially the numerous amount of events we keep getting. Making Raids local only, increasing the remote raid pass price and especially making bigger groups necessary caused a lot of trainers to stop playing. And why would they not, Niantic essentially took half the game away with these changes. I myself used to invite others to help with local raids, but now our usual group is too small to raid and Poke Genie is just no longer worth it, so we haven’t been able to meet up for raids in a while. I am not even attempting the new Gigantamax Pokémon.

If Niantic really wanted to achieve their goal they had in mind for the Dynamax and Gigantamax battles they should

1). Make them remote raidable. We could probably gather about 20 trainers, but that is apparently not enough to take on Gigantamax battles. If we could just send invites to the remaining trainers, chances are we’d meet up much more often.

2). Lower the prices of remote raids. Again, these changes did the exact opposite of stimulating socialization. If smaller groups could take on strong Gigantamax Pokémon with a reliable help of invitees, they’d actually start meeting up for these battles.

3). Heavily improve the rewards. I am assuming they will eventually bring exclusive Pokémon to this feature but for now all of Dyamax and Gigantamax seems pointless, just takes up more and more inventory slots, is a money grab and an utterly confusing mechanic. If only they made it so they gave a lot more XP and Stardust, or Special Items like Showcases, the appeal for them would already be so much higher. And that compared with people buying more remote raids, would not only have Niantic achieve their goal, but not lose in profit either.

And there are plenty more solutions, however Niantic is missing all of them and doing the exact opposite of what they need to do.

Nianshit’s whole business model is based on FoMo in the disguise of projecting they are promoting in person social interaction and healthy life style of getting out and exploring.
They are forced to project that under agreement of that’s what the whole Pokémon story is about.
FoMo requires very little thought and effort to the design and playability of the game.

Remote Raids and better rewards will only do so much if it’s still not fun. The rewards absolutely need to be better like giving out Stardust and more candies depending on the difficulty.

Dynamax and Gigantamax need other adjustments. First of all, increase the daily energy gain from 800 to something like 1200 or get rid of the cap, so f2p can save up for Dmax/Gmax Pokémon they want. Reduce costs of building dmax skills in terms of energy and candy. Building Dmax/Gmax shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg if this was meant for new players.

Reduce the cost of doing raids to something like
1 - 100
3 - 250
5/6 - 400

Drastically reduced the difficulty on non-legendary Gmax Pokémon. Eternatus is understandable. Kantos and Galar starters being this hard is not understandable especially during holiday events.

Drop the player requirement from 40 to 4 or 5 like Sword and Shield/SV. We’re not in 2016 anymore, and this isn’t Vanilla WoW raiding.

Make these farmable with good rotations. Players shouldn’t have to wait for 2-3 days for a Pokémon to pop up after beating the bosses. They should refresh every 24 hours or so.

For me it’s more a: Take it out of the game, we don’t like it, we don’t need it.

That works too. Wait until thry get to Terrestrial content from SV (and nobody really liked SV let alone the Horizons anime). Terrestialization is going to be a nightmare.

Too many are participating in the DMax nonsense so in Nianshit’s eyes it’s a success.

Only if you’re in a big city that still have Pogo events. Even if it failed, gacha developers will still force unpopular content on you to make it a successful failure in their eyes.

I already hate Mia. Is it hard to have npcs that don’t look like girlbosses with bad haircuts? She looks like she came from Dustborn, and the new avatar models aren’t helping her.

Mateo was actually so good as far as visuals were concerned…why ruin it now?

Because of ESG and DEI, and they need to justify the god-awful avatars with npcs nobody wants.

It needs to be said. No Pogo player asked for a “diverse” girlboss that came from from Dustborn or Concord. The worst thing about this is knowing Niantics track record, routes will be worse than current routes and Dynamax/Gigantamax because Mia was more of a priority than fixing a game that’s bleeding money. Thank god I completed Zygarde.

“I’ll give Dynamax Toxtricity a shot with at least 1 built drillbur and semi-built Pokémon. Let do this Gro-”
<Only 2 doable Dynamax Drillbur spots around my job and home.
<Little or no Drillburs popping up let alone Rhyhorn or other featured Pokémon
<This is a weekend event

Can this season end now?!

I didn’t participate in the FU OK wild days so no toxic shock for me. Hopefully they reappear in plain normal format and are not contained to DMax :poop:

Thay made it easier to dp the gmax ones

It’s still a p2w event if you want to get the most out of it. Yes, they boosted the cap.from 800 to 1600, but that still isn’t enough for f2p players.
