In light of unown spawn rates at Japan and Europe, could unown’s incredibly rare spawn rate be due to Niantic using them as ‘event pokemon’? As in you would have to travel to events like go fest or pikachu outbreak to collect all the unown, similar to collecting regionals?

People were catching 60-80 Unown a day! It was ridiculous…

That spawn rate makes it seem like it appears almost as much as pidgey lol
Trust me, there are people at the events that are annoyed by them now. I have caught 300, and the novelty wears off because of this.
