Even with the steep discounts, powering up my lucky Pokémon tends to use up all my stardust, to where I’ve currently got about a dozen luckies in the power-up queue. Strong likelihood that a new lucky Pokémon today will remain as it currently is for another year before its turn comes around… it makes it feel less urgent to make new lucky trades.
I would love to see lucky trades treat stardust the way trade-evolution treats candies (making it cost 0 stardust to max out afterwards); but that’s just wishful thinking. I can’t imagine Niantic giving us something like that, even for a limited time event.
