Is the connection of a cell phone with Bluetooth 4.2 much worse than the one with Bluetooth 5.0?
Probably!
The 5 gives you a wide range (about 25 meters) while the 4.2 is around 10. The speed can double on the 5.
Devices made before June 2017, don´t support the 5. So not to worry much with those. And getting a cell phone that gets the BT5 won´t help if the other devices only support the 4.
They are similar, but it isnt that much worse.
