Lets talk - (anything)

After a few raids this morning it occurred to me – a mega pokémon that can be soloed as a mega raid boss must not be very good for battles. (It would make sense if it could be as easy for an opponent to beat as it was for me to beat.)

There’s no dedicated topic for Unova Go Tour Global (only for a report card) so I’m posting my experience and impressions here.
Unova Tour was unusual to say the least. Some things were good, some were bad and some were in the middle. Before the main event even started during the Road to Unova event I was lucky to get shiny Vullaby from the special research and shiny chill drive Genesect from the timed research as well as hundo Tornadus (only my second hundo legendary)! :star_struck: :sparkles: :100: Naturally, after such a great start I had high expectations for the main event. I chose white version (which has Zekrom on the badge – quite confusing ) and my starter was Tepig. I mega evolved Rayquaza (Day 1) and Groudon (Day 2), used incense, star pieces, lure modules. I made a checklist of everything that was happening during the event and all the shinies I didn’t have (over 30 and with the ones I need for evolutions over 40). I expected to get a wide variety of shinies and at least the same number as on Sinnoh Tour which was 13. But the results were disappointing. On Day 1 I got shiny Solosis (the only shiny I found in the wild), I hatched shiny Roggenrola (but that was from an egg I got before the event so it doesn’t count), shiny Kyurem with the move Glaciate and shiny Woobat with special background. Only 3 shinies! :unamused: Day 2 was no better. I got one shiny red Basculin from a route and after 6 p.m. I found shiny Natu in the wild (does that count? Some bonuses from the event lasted until midnight). So all in all, I got 2 shinies before the main event and 5 shinies during event (excluding Roggenrola). Not a single shiny Deerling, Pikachu, Zorua and I caught so many of them. In regards to the raids, I did 4 Kyurem (1 fled), 2 Zekrom and 1 Reshiram raids, but I couldn’t get enough Volt and Blaze fusion energy to get either Black or White Kyurem. The number of raids you had to do to get one was insane and I didn’t want to spend money on remote raid passes. And I only got 1 Kyurem with Glaciate. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: As for the hundos, I was lucky to hatch hundo Bouffalant! :four_leaf_clover: I also got 13 Pokemon with special background.
 I liked the tour pass (final rank 177), rotating habitats, ½ egg hatch distance, special research, timed research, special backgrounds, avatar T-shirt, stickers, exclusive moves, new Unown V, new shinies and regionals, 6 special trades.
:broken_heart: I didn’t like the way the fusion energy for Kyurem was implemented and the special move Glaciate, legendaries were hard to catch, (shiny) regionals were hard to get, low shiny rate, you had to pay to get the lucky trinket and Victini, no roaming legendaries, no Pokemon from snapshots.
It was a fun event, but previous events were better and I hope the next Go Tour will be even better.

Good write up @Branebs
Unlike your dedicated effort mine was very lack lustre and didn’t involve any deviation from my normal game play.
Didn’t buy a ticket as I will never buy one again after being ripped off buying a ticket for a previous GoFest for no gain over a non ticketed account playing side by side.
I didn’t bother to read anything about what was on offer or what was required to do.
I just caught stuff and let it work itself out.
I wanted to do as many Zekrom raids as possible to try and get that elusive 100% but the work/life universe had other ideas preventing being able to do many at all.
Never completed enough of the field research in time to complete it as by the time I got to the end stage my window of play time was over despite doing 5 Kyurem raids.
Stuck here now until Kyurem comes back again.

I was very angry when I saw the needed 1000 energy, too many raids only to get one fusion, not talking about wanting the two types…

Not sure if walking one will give fusion energy like you can for Mega Energy?
So many people had been waiting with excitement for Black and White Kyurem. I wonder if they still hold that excitement with the mechanic requirement?
I still have no idea if the fusion makes it a Pokémon I want to use or not?

You know I’m a collector, not a fighter. So I want them to have, not to use.
Ann here is the one I have:

Maybe the more interesting is his attack Ice Burn, which can be activated outside fighting and for 10 minutes augment the posibility to catch, even with connected accessories.

Open my gift

Maybe you refer to my account bagguille. This account was blocked by Niantic more than two years ago., as well as another of my accounts.

In all active accounts I don’t need more than two or three days to open and resend the gifts.

The Scopely announcement on pokemongolive sounds like Niantic just sold the developer/maintainer roles to this other gaming company, for expanding in the way THEY see fit, like they’re getting out of the PoGO business. Perhaps the product outlived their expectations, and they need to cut ways to focus on newer product plans…

I’d never heard of scopely before, though; so maybe they aren’t bottom feeders like Tata Consultancy. Confirmations? Corrections? Other thoughts?

What I have seen of their games are the typical low-level Android games.
There are two which are called GO, Scrabble Go and Monopoly Go.

Maybe they just want to add another Go, hehe

Well what account do you have

Good news for me. The week from 3rd to 7th of april Marshadow will be catchable without paying.

So after 10 months I can make one more step to fill my Pokedex… :clinking_glasses:

@bagguille that’s good to hear! I really didn’t like how they put Victini behind a “paywall” in the last event… That would’ve been a very nice register to have.

I had one of the best mornings in pogo today, with 3 awesome encounters. I’ll share the registers a bit later, when I have more time.

I had an appointment today, so I was in a different area, and by chance checked the pokemon radar, more to see if they had any new showcases… And what a surprise! All the frantic walking I did after spotting it was very rewarding, thankfully.

For those that never completed Black/White Kyurem quests. The requirements to catch the legendaries changed the other day so there is a chance to complete.
The one I completed was use 50 Nanabs.

I had it only in one account, and there it’s finished. But I’m shure your note will help others.

I appreciated this, as I had no chance of completing anything otherwise. Will I benefit from the rewards for each thing? In my case, not really, but at least it gets to be progressed and isn’t stuck there forever and it’s something that will fill over time anyway. Other players that value those rewards will probably be extra glad about this!

Personally I like when they change these things into something else when it’s no longer possible to complete them, instead of waiting for it to return who knows when.

And tomorrow is Totodile’s day! I’ve been looking forward to it for quite a while now, as it’s one of my favourite pokemon.

However, the timing for me is awful as I have a big storm in my area and I won’t be able to play properly. I think I’ve spent all my luck in this game for the week (maybe more…), after catching mesprit… I’m very disappointed about it, as I would have loved to go on long walks and just enjoy the whole thing, but oh well.

:crossed_fingers: Hopefully I can find 3 shiny totodile, at least, so I can have the family!
I have 1 almost perfect totodile that I want to keep as is, so one day it can become a best buddy. That’s why I’d like 1 more to evolve all the way into Feraligatr with the special attack. We’ll see! But my priority is definitely the shiny.

(The fact that it also has 1/4 hatch distance is another great loss, as that makes the perfect combo for community day and the ongoing Deep Depths event, and I cannot leave the house.)

So that’s why I suddenly had catch 10 water type and catch 20 water type. Thanks for the tipoff

Hours later after I posted that change to the quest requirements the 2x catch were auto completed so I’m a little salty I may have wasted 50 Nanabs if rather be throwing at Gyms.
