Pretty dang great! While I didn’t get the only hundo I was missing from this batch this year–Magmar–I did get a hundo Regirock from a Raid as well as a grand total of 24 Shinies, including a Shiny Regirock.
Didn’t play both CD’s all that hard. Day 1 I wasted 1/2 of it trying to finish of the 30 Raids on non Gold Gyms. Was only really interested in doing Mega Raids as everything else doesn’t seem worth using a paid pass on.
Day 2 I only got 1/2 of it again due to a Golf game and lunch after.
I slightly regret not farming more Gastly and Magikarp for the XL Candy.
Got a total of 91 Shinies during December’s Community Day weekend, of which one was a full odds Shiny and two were at higher odds but not the Community Day odds.
During the Community Day I got the following Shinies:
- 6 Charmander;
- 12 Weedle;
- 1 Growlithe (full odds);
- 5 Abra;
- 8 Gastly;
- 6 Rhyhorn;
- 10 Electabuzz (one at higher odds);
- 6 Magmar;
- 9 Magikarp;
- 9 Porygon;
- 10 Seedot;
- 8 Piplup;
- 1 Bronzor (at higher odds).
Disappointing was the fact that I forgot to evolve Pokémon except my Hundo Marshtomp which now is a Swampert with Mud Shot and Hydro Cannon and has already been used a lot.

Played for 2 hours but it was an AWESOME community day. First 15 minutes I got 4 shinies, 2 98% machops and 1 96%. Accidentally transferred one of the 98% machops, but caught another one later!

I liked the choice for this CD since I didn’t have shiny Machop. I got 12 shinies.
I used incense, 2 lure modules and 2 star pieces, got lots of stardust. The special research was free because I bought the Kanto event ticket. I caught 234 Machop, evolved 4 Machamp and got 1 from the special research. It was a great CD.

200 Machop caught, 13 were shiny.
All shiny with bad IV, but at least a blue-one had 98IV FEF.
So, I loved it, I was still searching for a Hulk.

21 Shinies, but the biggest thing was getting 472 Candy XL, much more than needed.

Played for about 4 hours and got over 200 Machops, a dozen shinies, and a few mid-90s IV. No hundos or nulls, though. The vast majority had IV under 80.
I was pleasantly surprised to notice that every single Pokémon I encountered in the wild during the event was a Machop. But one TR stop yielded a Shadow Snover, completing my collection task.

53 Shinies. I’m quite happy with that as I only could play for four hours yesterday, because I had to do a lot of things yesterday and because it was extremely cold outside and even the snow came up for the first time this Winter. My Shiny rate was 53/1124 = 1:21,2, so not bad this time.

First serious go I’ve had at a CD since the COVID 6hr duration came in.
Sat on 4 Lured Pokestops and ran an incense for the full 6hrs.
The goal was to get enough XL Candy to take one of my L40 Machamps to L50.
Have no idea how many Machops I caught all up.
Got 24 Shiny
Best IV for the day was only a 96%
After transfers I only ended up with 286 XL Candy which I though was a bit low for how many I was catching.
Got really disappointed when I found out I need 360 XL’s to Power Up my Shadow Machamp.
Looks like I need to find some good nests over the next weeks/months to get it done.

1124 Machop caught or encountered / 4 hours = 281 per hour = about 4 per minute, that is alot of dust accumulated even not all 1124 Machop were caught.
Btw what are you going to do with so many shiny Machop? Lol
How many Machops did you catch to get that much XL Candy?
Any idea what your XL/Machops ratio was you were getting?
Do you use the quick catch method?
I felt like my XL per catch rate was a bit low.
Transferring seemed to be around 1/5-6.
Honestly, I think I caught around around 700 or so Machop. I started at 72 Candy XL for Machop and ended at 544. Around 200 of those were from transferring, and when I transferred a large bulk after Community Day, I got this:
I think weather played a role as we had dependably Cloudy weather throughout the event.

1625 checks, 48 shiny. Since 5 of the 6 hours were with the gotcha on autocatch my odds are lower then most, but still more then sufficient.
Also 14 hundo’s, no shundo (the GF had one though), and over 500 XL candy.
Edit: of those 1625, 889 were caught, 2,5 per minute, all thanks the gotcha.

Not really, despite the fact that I put a Starpiece on and caught everything on my way, but I had to do a bunch of power ups for the Special Research so the real amount is a lot higher.
And I have no idea what I’m going to do with all those Machop. Lol

I have to transfer between 50 and 100 shinies each month,
there is no point is saving 50 shinies of 1 family, or even anything above 3.
Like last night i saw that i still have 11 shiny marill, they won’t last till the end of the month

Could you keep one extra Marill for whenever we manage to meet up again for being lucky friends? (When you’re in the area?)
I’m keeping max 3 of every shiny, so don’t worry.
One for my shiny collection, one high CP for trade and 1 low CP for trade, so the receiver can choose based on what he wants to do with it.
Also, you want to use a lucky trade on that? i got more interesting stuff
