No interest in Quacker CD apart from getting 3x Shiny. Just drove around around in the car for 2 1/2hrs letting the GoPlus and auto catchers get whatever while stopping to take the odd Gym here and there.
Returns were low and well down on the amount of balls used. Did they forget to nerf the catch/flee rate as the normally do for starter CD’s?
Around 140 caught, would have expected just below or up to 220-30.
No surprise 100%
Only 3 Shiny
Crap underwhelming CD tbh
I didn’t have as much fun in this community day as I did in the previous one, mainly because I had a much harder time getting shinies, as well, and I tried to play for longer than expected, too, to compensate. I don’t think my mood was the best that day either, so for a big part I just wanted to get it over with, which is not the best state of mind to be playing in (apart from the hot weather).
Is the daily incense anti shiny, for some particular reason? I only started playing at around 2h30 and popped that one first, just in case I found any legendary birds, and didn’t see any shinies for the first 30 min. I opened and closed the app, just in case, and nothing. Then I gave it a go with the normal incense and there it was, almost immediately after, too. I thought it was very weird… I started finding them during that incense, but I felt it was much “rarer” than previous community days (for me anyway). This pokemon was also more difficult to catch, so all the wasted pokeballs didn’t help my mood.
Still, I managed enough candies to have all the evolutions (yey for the extra candy bonus!) and Quaquaval became a new register for me, as well as securing a complete shiny family.
All in all:
shinies: 7 in total, after what felt like ages to get them going…
Some ducks with very nice stats, something I struggled with whenever I found Quaxly in the wild, so that’s nice!
Had family visiting, so couldn’t really play. Snagged three shiny Quaxly which I am happy with. Didn’t even know what the shiny looked like tbh, I care very little for Quaxly anyway.
Better not use daily incense during Community Day, regular incense is better for shinies.
I had no idea, I thought it was the same thing. I’ve used the normal one many times, as it lasts a long time during this day, but decided to start with the daily one, just in case (and also because I’m running kind of low). Now I know!
I completely missed this one for my own Reasons.
Oh well, I’ll need to catch one in december then
Another low interest CD for me.
Already have the 100% family. Only interest was picking up enough Shiny for the family.
After 2hrs 45min I only had 2 Shiny then got another 2 in the last 15min.
Just drove around letting the GoPlus get whatever while stopping occasionally to do Raids or DMax battles.
245 caught
No surprise 100%
4x Shiny
I played one part at home and then I went out. It was raining slightly so I could still play. I used incense, mega evolved Rayquaza. I didn’t buy the special research and I forgot to take snapshots this time. I did 2 raids, put my 2 XXL Rookidee in showcases. I used 1/4 hatch distance for incubators to hatch all my 10km and 12km eggs. The results will be posted in the Pick a challenge! thread. I got 12 shinies, even found 2 back-to-back! I evolved 7 Corviknight with Air Cutter. Since I was using party play, I did some field research tasks and got 5 Rookidee with a special background. I also used 1 lucky egg and 1 star piece when I hatched the eggs.
Was away on a weekend trip. Nonetheless I encountered about 100 rookidee, evolved my dynamax corvisquire, found 0 shiny.
I enjoyed this one, especially because it’s a pokemon I find very cute and it has a really cool final evolution. Corvisquire is pretty neat, too, but Corviknight is impressive… different moods, I guess! I really like corvids in real life so the appeal here for me is natural and innevitable.
I already had some birds with very good stats waiting for this day to get evolved into the final stage, so that wasn’t a concern. Finding shinies was the real challenge as that’s been taking me longer of late. I used the normal incense right away, this time, but they were still very shy. Still, I ended up finding quite a few and managed to complete the family.
The weather was nice, not too hot, not too windy and I was in the mood for a long walk, so all in all it was a nice event! I also appreciated the half distance for egg hatching, that always helps.
Total:
6 shinies
1st place on a showcase with rookidee
(I already had a gigantic little bird in my collection before the event, so I was basically very curious if somebody else could top that. Unfortunately no incubator as a reward… that should be more common for 1st place…)
I had the energy to do this for 65 minutes. Results
269 seen
263 caught
4 eggs hatched
16 shiny
- 7 white flower
- 3 orange flower
- 6 red flower
Rate: 1 shiny every 16,8 flabébé
Couldn’t be bothered dedicating time for this CD as I already had the 100% Blue, Orange and White families. If all the colours were available it may have got me interested. Not having the Shinys was still not enough to get me enthusiastic.
Ended up turning the game on while have having a coffee and donuts after some shopping. Caught 67 manually without getting a Shiny. Drove home letting the GoPlus catch a few more for a total of 83 caught. Got 4 shiny in that last lot 2x Blue and 2x White, stupid game.
Less than 1hr game play
87 catches
2 Blue Shiny
2 Orange Shiny
No 100%
24 red shinies, 4 orange shinies and 6 white shinies. Not a single one of them is 3*. No Hundos either. I am glad to have finished at least 3 of the 5 shiny families, but I am still a bit discontent by the fact they didn’t let the other two flowers spawn world wide as well after them totally forgetting to turn on Flabébé spawns all Summer. I still think it is unacceptable. I see no point in regionals when these ‘regionals’ don’t even spawn in their respective regions.
Yeah, my CD was a bit of a bust. I didn’t get enough shinies to complete any family, as I’ve only managed to catch 2 red shinies, 1 white shiny and 1 orange shiny…so far.
Maybe in the special research available for the next few days I’ll be lucky enough to at least get 1 more.
At the very least I’ll enjoy the temporary lower requirement to evolve the different colours I have into a Florges, as that will be a new register for me. So, right now, this is the main goal as I want all 3rd stage evolutions of this pokemon of many colours.
I used both incenses this time and still had a much lower shiny outcome than in previous CD. I played for almost 2 hours and then checked the game sporadically. If this had been a CD for a pokemon I really cared for, I’d be very disappointed. As it is, I’m only a little bit. (And this is a personal opinion, but I think the shiny for a flower pokemon should be more colorful/visually impactful, I think it’s way too subtle).
Since it’s a Community Day, why not have all colours available everywhere for a single special event? I think this would’ve been better. I really liked the egg distance being greatly diminished, that’s for sure, as right now I’m hoarding a lot of 10km eggs, …
I think the general consensus of the Pokémon Go community is this was a massive fail CD not having all flower colours available.
Should have been a 2 Day CD just like Eevee was a few years ago allowing players to collect many of all the colours.
Region locking Pokémon needs to go full stop.
Change regional to traveller and have all current regionals changing locations once, twice or even three times a year.
Played for two hours; 1.8 million exp gained by lucky egg an then 8000 exp per excellent catch.
20 Solosis shiny; only one good iv solosis —> 96% shiny one
Only interest was getting shiny to complete the family line. This is becoming a common thing for CD’s now.
Drove around letting the GoPlus get whatever while making some progress on Gym Badges.
Ran Lucky Egg(s), Star Pieces and Stink Bomb for 2 1/2hrs with Psychic Mega Slowbro. No ide of total gains.
Stats:
222 caught
8x Shiny
0x surprise 100%
Trashed all but the 3 best IV Shiny.
There was no field research with this one. Apparently special backgrounds were obtain some other way. Not that it matters as I don’t collect them.
I didn’t care for this one that much, but still tried to get some shinies to add to the collection. I played for almost 2 hours and managed 3 shinies in total, so at least the family is complete!
I had a lot more difficult finding them and not having the extra special research during the week was a surprise. I usually rely on that one for better stats and maybe surprise shinies (I only ever got better stats anyway), so I usually evolve the pokemon later in the week. I happened to evolve one on Sunday, so I got at least 1 with a special attack… I don’t use these pokemon, so it’s not a concern, but maybe people that use them missed out on it accidentally?
@NotanotherKangaskhan I did find some pokemon with backgrounds spawning in the wild (not in field research, just in the wild), which had never happened to me before. I only ever find them in that special community day research during the folowing days. That should have let me know something was different!
I wonder if the shiny spawns (for me at least) were lower than usual because they were mixed with some special background spawns…
