I think Hanke pretty much confirmed PvP in 2018. I think its going to be around Spring. Maybe May.
The Release date is my speculation, Hanke only confirmed PvP next year.
Gen 4 is also coming. If not in Summer (August) probably just like Gen 3 in October to December.

The battle System now is not suitable for PvP. Imo
But Niantic didnāt mention Battle system rework.
Yeah. Because no one asked. All people asked was PvP, trading, breeding
And the minor updates should be: Additional pokeballs, dressing Pokemon, Detecting players nearby your area etc. Hahaha
I think they will introduce the raid beacon.
Making raid easy for rural trainers
Btw Niantic has confirmed Pokemon GO is in its 10%. Thereās still a lot potential.
Half an hour egg, 1 and a half hour Raid time + beacon would be perfect.
