I’m now back into the game and I see that battling is now introduced. Is it okay if I add some people please? I would love to trade and battle others.

Welcome back to the game 
You need to be ultra friends to battle. (To get an ultra friend, you have to level up with that friend for 30 days.)
You also have to be close by physically to trade.
Kinda sucks, but that’s how it is currently. Trading would be better if it could be done with any friend wherever they are in the world.
