Nothing to Clang your Scales About!
After 3 months of inactivity, 2 weeks of scrambling for resources, and one hour missed due to an outing, I can safely say that I am back to sweeping the streets of Go Rocket Grunts, and scaring the leaders and beating Giovanni again!
Now with the stats: It’s clear the race to Platinum is winding down for Electric, but Psychic is only 73 catches away! Fire is simply being left behind, but it may be too late for a comeback. Ghost is simply too far ahead of the other types, with the third highest rate of growth (probably due to all the Gastly and Golett spawns). Speaking of Golett, it was the chief contributor to major gains for the badges to its respective typing. It seems both Fighting and Rock are tied (man, Rock can’t catch a break) but it may not need to worry about that in a few days. Ice isn’t far behind, and upcoming spawns may change that. As for the last three Types, Dragon leaps up out of the 600s, getting close to 800 catches! Dark and Fairy…

Just hang in there guys!

And that about wraps it up! Go Fest Global is coming in less than a week, so I had better start stockpiling!

Well, 2025 is a wrap, and there is only one thing my mind when thinking about all the catches I made this year: Type Badges. I set a goal for the end of this year to complete the remaining 6 out of 7 type badges. Memes aside, Dragon is the exception because they are…well… not a common spawn you’d see in the wild. Or in eggs. or raids(Barring Mega, T4, Legendary, etc). TL:DR the Dragon badge is the lone exception because it’s challenging to obtain just one (outside of Max Battles. Speaking of that, Drampa is in Power Spots on Monday at 6PM local time). But enough rambling, let’s get to the recap of my struggles to obtain 6 badges in 3 months.

October
So the Halloween event came earlier than I expected, and with it came a slew of Ghost type encounters. This one felt relatively easy to complete, and it led to me catching every single Ghost type I saw. My item storage was recovering from August (or as I like to call it, The Quest for Eternatus), and I ran out of balls multiple times. It took me until Halloween to complete it, eventually catching a hundo costumed Rowlet as my 2,500th catch.

November
On the morning of November 2nd, I snagged a hundo costumed Pumpkaboo. But I wasn’t hung up on that, but three events for Dark, Fairy and Fighting type badges: Into the Wild, Wild Area, and Final Justice. Here’s how they went:
Into the Wild
Dark was actually neck and neck with Fairy despite it being Cloudy in game over half the time I played. Fairy reached platinum rank a day after Dark, which was pretty fast. But since the only Fighting type spawn was Scraggy at the time, I just kept catching Scraggy along with Sableye, because extra dust is always appreciated. In other news, Rock finally reached platinum, and I rediscovered that I still hate Carbink. IMO they are annoying to catch.
Wild Area
I kept catching Scraggy during Wild Area, and it led to Fighting surpassing Ice for the time being. Another thing to note is that I was able to catch Klefki, which was previously only available in France.
Final Justice
Fighting types. My favorite type purely due to the fact that they embody toughness. Its badge was only behind Rock at this point in time, and all my Scraggy catching allowed for Fighting to reach Platinum rank on the first day of the event. The rest of the event was spent catching Mankey. 'Nuff said.
December
As the holidays set in for everyone, I was determined to have Ice reach Platinum rank before the end of the year. Ice was completed during Delibird Spotlight Hour, which was surprisingly a fun time due to me already having Flying at Platinum. It only took 10 minutes.

And that’s a wrap for this one! I feel that Dragon is going to be complete eventually, but I know patience is what led me to getting these badges to Platinum. I can’t wait to see what 2026 will hold!
