With “own” I meant it has your color and one of your Pokémon is inside. But if I understand this is not necessary, just 30k in raids is enough?
Yes, if you do 30 raids at the same gym, it would turn gold.
Actually I have 3 gold gyms badges that are raid only, meaning they have 0 battle victory and 0 time defended at those gyms.
Got #221 gold after a shadow raid today, it’s a mural inside a local McDonalds done by artists from nearby school

Aprils almost done and looking back I haven’t updated Feb and March yet. Must do all 3 when April finishes.
Got #222 gold after a shadow Gurdurr raid today, got a 15 15 13 shadow Gurdurr, this new gym is an urban wall mural in a semi commercial area surrounded by companies and residential houses

Got #223 after a Mega Gyarados raid today, it’s a small fountain in a shopping center that is usually pretty busy

Got #224 gold today. It’s a stone statue next to #223, my Pokemon remained at the gym when it turned gold.

Got #227 gold today, this new gym is a Mexican restaurant which was opened in 1996 and has brought the nearby community together for almost 30 years. My Pokemon is able to stay at the gym for 10+ days and a raid today finally pushed it gold.

Got #228 today, it’s a sculpture inside a big hospital, a Regice trio with Thorned pushed this gym gold.
My Pokemon was kicked from #227 today, it stayed at #227 for almost 20 days straight.

Got #229 gold today, it’s a small church at the roadside of a big road, I have to park across the street to reach the gym safely. A Mega Aggron duo pushed it gold.

Got two more gold gyms thanks to Hisuian Lilligant raid day
#230 gold: this is a church located in a residential neighborhood, it’s easy to find street parking around the church except for Sunday. Did one raid to push it gold today .
#231 gold: this is a city sign where only a few parking could reach it. Did three raids to push it gold today.

I’m falling behind my 15/month goal. Work over a number of new areas simultaneously and not getting many multiple day stays. Also haven’t gone for as many regional drives as that trends to give some long term stays.

Got #232 gold yesterday, it’s a new gym in a small, private, Buddhist affiliated university. Turnover rate is not too high.
