Powering up one Sky Attack Moltres does not hurt much when you have good amount of stardust and Moltres candies (why not put it into good use instead of leaving them there?) and you would like variety against Grass, Bug and Fighting.

I maxed out my original 2017 98% moltres, thinking they would never return. Oh, how I was so, so wrong.

No, I donāt think itās wrong at all, just think about what such Moltres helped in your gym battle and raid battle since you maxed it. There always will be PokĆ©mon in later generation that will outclass the current ones, but without the current power-up ones, how can one trainer battle and get to the next better one?

Yeah, it really helped me sweep gyms.
So as long as you are happy about the result, no regret at all.
