Hi, Newbie here is a couple senses. Being here, duh but also I’ve only been playing the game for about 3 weeks. Can you change the encounter reward Pokemon? I really don’t want another Snorlax right now. I don’t have any great or ultra balls in my items. I feel just using normal old Pokeballs on this guy is a waste of my money. The shame is I can’t battle anyone who is real until this road block ends. I say anyone real since Team Rocket is just software and not another player online. ---

There are some that have more than one choice to be encountered, but no, it is either fixed or completely random. The player has no choice in what they encounter. ---
