Well… obviously my evidence is purely anecdotal based on a couple of hours of catching on the first day of an event.
I was trying to present an optimistic tone to encourage people to get out there and play.
I’m sure your Go-Plus will come up with a happy surprise for you in the next day or two. 
Generally I’m not usually lucky with stuff - for instance, I have never received a shiny through any of the research, hatching or raiding methods - the day any of that happens will be truly momentous for me.
