‘A Ripple in Time’ (5/8)
Trade a Pokémon Hard (Since I have no friends in my direct surrounding)

#3

Make a new account if you have 2 phones.

#4

The quest is not too hard for the average player , that’s right. And that’s probably wanted that way. I know some people were hoping for stuff like 10 excellent curveballs in a row (a thing that’s impossible for me, speaking personally), but such a quest has to be designed so that the average player has a chance (people who can constantly throw excellent are not average).
And by slowing it down with the “do x y days in a row” they just wanted to keep those speedrunners from finishing it within 24 hours.

The tasks are not super exciting, but I’m OK with it. I’m currently at the Umbreon stage…

#5

Hahaha, this time you have revolutioned up to a level I couldn’t imagine before starting the topic…
very good :+1:

#6

I agree 100% dude. yes, it is a little easy and time consuming what with the 7 days to do this and that…but it is reasonable for those new players (like my wife that doesn’t know what a curve ball is) to fit in and enjoy the game for what it is. a social game.

so, it’s a bit easy this time around but the developers are learning as well as time goes on and I reckon they are working to achieve a good balance between newbies and veterans.

at the end of the day, we will all get a Celebi so hay, I’m happy.

Cheers.

#7

I agree too (put a post up about this when they were announced). My issue is that yes, it’s aimed at new players and is good for them but I feel niantic arnt focusing on current players. I feel like some as special as a mythcal pokemon which (for the moment) can only be cause once should be worked for. Like I said in my post it should be challenging but honestly doing pretty basic day to day tasks doesn’t make it feel special. Also kinda sick of seeing rural players complaining about certain aspects of this when it stops them get most legendaries anyway and will always be n3gativly impacted by there location.

#8

Making new friends is impossible for Some people until They are 13/14.

#9

Its extreme hard

#10

For some people, hatching 9 eggs is really hard work, especially if they can’t afford paid incubators (maybe only hardly earned 100 coins the last week?). They’d have to hatch every single egg after the other (although, I think there was a super incubator as stage 1 reward, that makes it 6 eggs after the other). And we all know the “egg luck” with this. If you need 2km eggs, all you get is 10km and maybe an occasional 5km one…

When one can afford to buy just another ultra box and has stops and gym in near distance and walks 5-7km each day anyway getting to work (yes, I admit it, this is me  ), it’s hard to see that not everybody can play like this.
And yes, those players probably also have problems with other aspects of the game, there’s no denying that.

‘A Ripple in Time’ (1/8)

Power up a Pokémon 5 times
This is extremely easy as you only really need to catch 10 pokemon for it.

Battle in a Gym 2 times
Easy for most but relatively difficult for me although more players are coming back, taking down gyms. Then I can take them back.

Battle in a raid
Seemingly my town sees 2 raids a day if we’re lucky. And they’re seemingly always level 4 or 5 (raids my town can’t do). But when a level 1-3 does appear this is easy.

‘A Ripple in Time’ (2/8)
Make 3 new Friends
Easy when the megathread exists.
Might cause a problem for under-13 accounts until Niantic Kids allows existing accounts.

Catch a Pokémon 3 days in a row
Easy, but delays progress.

Evolve an evolved grass-type Pokémon
Very difficult outside this event. But during this event I see 3 jumpluff a day so I’ll be there soon.

‘A Ripple in Time’ (3/8)
Reach level 25
Already done for most people.

Use a Sun Stone to evolve Gloom or Sunkern
Easy if you prepare beforehand.

Hatch 9 eggs
Simple but tedious. Hatching eggs isn’t difficult but it does require a lot of distance.

‘A Ripple in Time’ (4/8)
Walk 10km with Eevee as your buddy to earn Candy
Also easy (but wish it was on the same one as the eggs)

Evolve Eevee into Espeon during the day
Easy if you have eevee candy from recent community days

Send 20 Gifts to Friends
Easy but poses the same problem to under 13 accounts.

‘A Ripple in Time’ (5/8)
Walk 10km with Eevee as your buddy to earn Candy
Again quite simple.

Evolve Eevee into Umbreon at night
Easy if you have candy.

Trade a Pokémon
Easy but also presents a problem for solo, rural, and under 13 accounts. Just use another device I guess.

‘A Ripple in Time’ (6/8)
Visit PokéStops 7 days in a row
Easy but delaying.

Use 25 Pinap Berries while catching Pokémon
Easy if you have pinaps.

Use special evolution items to evolve Pokémon 2 times.
Easy, assuming you have enough candy and the items.

’A Ripple in Time’ (7/8)
Catch 40 Grass- or Psychic type Pokémon
Difficult particularly for people living outside those biomes.

Make an Excellent Curveball Throw
Difficult but will probably happen before the 40 catches.

Earn the gold Johto Medal
If you have it then it’s already done. But if you don’t then I can see this one being difficult.
’A Ripple in Time’ (8/8)
Catch Celebi

#13

I’m not in a hurry for this one. Not planning to waste my Pinaps I saved for gen 4 too. What matters for me is that I catch it, not when I catch it.

#14

I can claim it directly

#15

I feel like they made this extremely easy because of all the casuals complaining about mew.

There is a large chunk of my local community(in a city with 5 million people not rural) that still don’t have mew 4 months later because they cant find a ditto despite their locations being shared in the very same group every hour for the months of April and May. Or my favorite complaint “i don’t have time to do 8 raids”.
If you cant do 8 raids in 4 months, you don’t deserve a mew. Sorry not sorry.

Celebi feels like a participation reward for these same casual players.

Just log in once a week and go for a 1 min walk and you will eventually hatch those eggs and walk Eevee 20km. Hell they even give you 2 Eevee’s to walk you don’t even need to go catch them and the spin pokestops 7 days in a row task is to get the casuals logging in daily instead of 1 or 2 times a week.

#16

you get 15 pineapples for completing step 5

#17

I still don’t see why I should waste my Pinaps…

#18

you dont need to complete the raid, just enter the lobby and it counts as a completed task. You can enter a T5 raid by your self, run after 1 second and u finish the task.

It’s super easy

#19

same here

#20

Got 2 phones (8 or 9 actually) But just one is capable of running Pokémon Go.

#21

Ok good
